Vortex excitation of steel chimneys with corrosion

The aim of the present study was to determine the steel chimney response under vortex excitation taking into account the influence of corrosion of steel chimney pipe. Across-wind load caused by vortex shedding as well as steel chimney response given in displacements are calculated according to the authors' own model of vortex excitation. In addition, the authors' own computer program called ‘Vortex Load' was created to implement the proposed model.
