Briefing: Making space for green places

Green infrastructure can provide sustainable regenerative solutions for the urban challenges to be faced now and into the future. The Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management (CIWEM) has produced a publically available report on current policy and legislation regarding green infrastructure for policy-makers and practitioners. This briefing outlines the report's findings in terms of the benefits that can be derived from green infrastructure, the challenges to increasing green infrastructure provision in urban areas and the institution's suggestions as to how these challenges might be met.
