The construction industry has experienced rapid development in China over the past two decades. However, it has also brought significant challenges to high-quality economic development (HQED). Therefore, the construction industrialisation (CI) strategy was implemented to promote sustainable development of the construction industry while driving the economic development to a certain extent. After 10 years of practice, it is necessary to assess whether CI aligns with the requirements of HQED and to identify gaps for improvement. First, this study established an indicator system for evaluating the level of CI and HQED. Second, the coupling coordination degree model is applied to measure the coordination degree (CD) between CI and HQED. Based on the statistics of 30 provinces of China from 2013 to 2022, a case study was conducted. The results indicate that the development of CI and the requirements of HQED are gradually becoming more coordinated, although significant room for improvement remains in achieving balanced coordination performance. Regionally, the CD in the eastern and central regions is slightly higher than that in the northeast and western regions due to the different foundations and environments. Finally, a comprehensive analysis was conducted to offer insights for governments in formulating appropriate policies for balanced development.
