Experimental results obtained by Scullion are found to be consistent with the suggestion that the slump test is a measure of the yield value of fresh concrete, and that the compacting factor test and the Vebe test each measure the apparent viscosity at an arbitrary effective rate of shear characteristic of the particular test. This leads to an equation relating results from the three British Standard tests. The equation is tested on extensive data published by other workers, and quite good agreement is found.
