It has come to our attention that a large portion of the following article, Griffiths, M. (2010), “Internet abuse and internet addiction in the workplace”. While the submission guidelines for Journal of Workplace Learning make it clear that articles must be original, it should, however, be emphasized that this article was published as part of the journal’s then ‘Professional Practice’ section, which had the primary purpose of translating research findings into practical guidance for managers and practitioners and therefore did not have the same originality requirements as empirical research papers. The author cooperated fully with the investigation. The journal and publisher have, however, taken the decision to alert readers to this issue as trust in the content is central to the integrity of the publication process.
