Parallels between the Physical Vacuum and concept of Qi in Medical Qigong: comprehending oneness Available to Purchase

Wanfeng Zhu, Graduate Student from Jiangxi University of Chinese Medicine (JXUCM), specializes in Qi theory and system science. He is experienced Medical Qigong Practitioner and has participated in several research studies, i.e. leading participants to practice medical qigong for treating joints pain, digestive problems, hypertension and insomnia. On behalf of JXUCM, he conducted research about the effect of medical qigong practice on sleep improvement together with the University of Wales Trinity Saint David and Northumbria University. He also explored the parallels between the Qigong science and insights from physics and systems sciences.

Petia Venkova Sice, holds Ph.D. in holistic approaches to understanding human systems. Her current work focuses on aspects of complexity science, chaos theory, theories of the Physical Vacuum and how these inform a new ontological paradigm. She employs her knowledge in the design and implementation of tools for facilitating and monitoring wellbeing. For the last four years, together with colleagues, Petia conducted research into applications of music, mindful movement and medical Qigong practice in the context of physical, mental, relational well-being, the improvement of sleep and explored the parallels between the Qigong science and insights from physics and systems sciences.

Wenchun Zhang, Ph.D., Professor of Chinese Medicine, is Director of the TCM institute of Jiangxi University of Chinese Medicine, Chairman of qigong treatment branch of the China Association of Medical Qigong and Member of the Terahertz Wave Biophysics Branch of the Chinese Physical Society. He is Editor-in-Chief of the national “14th Five-Year Plan”, “Basic Theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine”, “TCM health Rehabilitation”, “TCM Qigong”, “Chinese traditional rehabilitation skills”, “TCM sports health” and “TCM internal syndrome observation”. He has led a number of scientific research projects of the National Natural Science Foundation, proving that Qi has a terahertz wave and has an infrared effect.

Krystyna Krajewska holds Master’s Degree in philosophy in the Body: Eastern and Western approaches. As Executive Director of the UWTSD Confucius Institute she has been responsible for developing the institute’s specialism in Chinese well-being practices. In recent years she has collaborated with Jiangxi University of Chinese Medicine on research into Lung-Strengthening Qigong and Sleep-Improving Qigong. Her personal interest is in exploring the relationship between meditation and movement in qigong practice.

Zhangyang Zhao, TCM Doctor from Jiangxi University of Chinese Medicine, specializes in Qi theory. She has published papers and led a provincial project on Qi theory in TCM. She has participated in multiple experimental projects on Qigong science, actively exploring the objective essence of Qi using methods of physics and biology. Her current focus is on building a community medical model for TCM Qigong, aiming to contribute to well-being through this ancient practice.
