This special double issue includes Part II in the series “Modeling and analysis of uncertain systems,” Part I was published in Kybernetes,Vol. 37 Nos. 9/10, pp. 1214-456, 2008, and contains an Editorial by Dr Yi Lin which provides the background to these studies.

A concluding Part III will be published in later issues of this volume.

As is our usual practice, this special publication contains our regular journal sections and contributions.
