Artificial intelligence readiness in academic libraries: a strategic multidimensional assessment framework

Umme Habiba is based at Institute of Information Sciences, Noakhali Science and Technology University, Noakhali, Bangladesh. She is an Associate Professor at the Institute of Information Sciences, Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU), Bangladesh. She holds Bachelor’s, Master’s and MPhil degrees in Information Science and Library Management from the University of Dhaka, where she earned first class second position in both undergraduate and postgraduate studies. Since joining NSTU in 2015, she has been actively engaged in teaching, academic administration and research supervision. Her research interests include digital literacy, health information behavior, scholarly publishing, information credibility and the ethical use of AI in education. She regularly supervises student research and serves as a reviewer for leading academic journals. She is committed to advancing Library and Information Science education and promoting responsible information practices in the digital age.

Professor Dr Kazi Mostak Gausul Hoq is based at the Department of Information Science and Library Management, University of Dhaka, Dhaka, Bangladesh. He is a Professor who has been working at the University of Dhaka since 2000 in the Department of Information Science and Library Management. In the last 20 years, he has made significant contributions to the fields of library and information science, knowledge management, information ethics, rural information systems and digital libraries, through both textbooks in Bangla and journal articles, conference presentations in Bangladesh, Netherlands, India and South Korea. He is Associate Editor of Dhaka University Studies and was previously Associate Editor of the Arts Faculty Journal. Under the pseudonym “Mostak Sharif,” he is also a creative writer with novels, historical narratives and translations to his name.
