Philosophical discussion of the origins and interaction of attitudes, enterprise ethics and changes in ethics post‐war. The move has been from authoritarian to democratic; the democratic organisation presents particular problems. Demands on leadership go beyond traditional skills and include ability to empathise with diverse opinions/attitudes, if individuals′ contributions and commitment are to be maximised. An element of dissent is creative; too much may be destructive. A creative entrepreneurial culture presupposes freedom with responsibility.
