Recent research on the development of effective managers indicates that in addition to the long‐recognised social and analytical skills which are required there are also “meta‐qualities”, chief among which is the ability to “learn how to learn”. This article offers a description of an experiential learning design, the Organisation Laboratory, which can help develop this capacity.
