Reports the latest stage in a five‐year programme of research involving more than 1,000 large organizations. Describes the results obtained from research conducted on 17 groups containing managers from 140 organizations. Uses a new research technique and reports their expectations of the global future in 25 years’ time. These cover most aspects of society from technology through to politics. The results challenge received wisdom in a number of areas, not least in terms of their optimism, but tests indicate that they are well founded and in agreement with the views of most futurologists.
