Examines the regulation establishing the European Union′s (EU)Environmental Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS) which was adopted on 10 July 1993. Discusses how the regulation affects businesses of all sizes. Proposes that the effectiveness of the European Union′s new approach to protecting the environment will be undermined by a “wait and see” response from industry to this piece of legislation.
