Many thousands of workers worldwide are involved in the production of polyurethanes and other polymers which are used in a wide diversity of applications. The chemicals MDI and TDI play an important part in this process as reactive intermediates. They are produced at a high rate of 4 million tonnes per annum. This requires close attention to working practices in their transportation, storage, use and disposal.

MDI and TDI: Safety, Health and Environment is essential for everyone working in the polyurethane industry since it focuses on the safe handling techniques of MDI and TDI. It is also interesting for a broader audience like occupational physicians, environmental scientists, chemical analysts and regulators giving detailed information on medical and environmental issues such as: the properties; occupational and release limits; nomenclature of MDI and TDI; and analysis.

Gaining its importance from the global perspective of the international authors, the book is supported by the International Isocyanate Institute Inc., a world‐wide industry research organization. The book may be ordered from Wiley at: http://www.wiley.co.uk/
