In the 1920s, Sir Rudolph Peters was one of the distinguished pupils of Sir Frederick Gowland Hopkins working under his direction in the Biochemistry Department at Cambridge University. In later years, Sir Rudolph was appointed Whitley Professor of Biochemistry at the University of Oxford.
