The French experience of nutritional education of the public was outlined by Madame Françoise Buhl (French Committee on Health Education, Paris). In 1975, a prevention programme was drawn up and public information was made the responsibility of the French Committee on Health Education, a private association funded wholly by public money. For many years, it has been responsible for the training of public health personnel and publications for educational establishments and the general public.
