The National Dairy Council has recently launched two resources. The Milk Maths Challenge is linked directly with The National Numeracy Strategy. It is intended for children aged 5 to 11 and tells the story of two children visiting a farm to see each stage in milk production, from the farm to the sales counter. The children are presented with topical challenges, puzzles and activities. It represents an interesting way to learn more about the way milk is produced and also a more interesting way to do sums! Why Milk? explains the nutritional benefits of milk for children giving the wide range of essential nutrients a glass of milk supplies. These resources are available free of charge from the National Dairy Council at 5-7 John Princes Street, London W1M 0AP, UK.
