Organic fruit production

Nick Brown, Minister of Agriculture, has supported UK growers who are making the switch to organic fruit production. The Horticultural Research International's European Organic Fruit and Nursery Stock Research Centre, which is partly funded by MAFF, was established to help growers provide consumers with a sustainable supply of good quality, reasonably priced organic fruit and nursery stock. The new centre, which will identify key challenges, provide solutions and communicate to growers, will be completed by the end of 2001.
