The Gulf Co‐operation Council (GCC) was established in 1980 and consists of the six oil rich countries — Saudi Arabia; United Arab Emirates; Kuwait; Sultanate of Oman; Qatar; and Bahrain. In addition to the wealth generated from oil revenues, these countries also have a growing young population where the demand for better education is ever increasing.
