A scenario is “a synopsis of a dramatic plot of a drama dealing with certain aspects of the future. The plot is based on a current condition and depicts potential actions and events in likely order of development.” It is an extraordinarily flexible device. It is an extrapolation of future events or trends based on either current conditions, or variations and changes in current conditions, or on new conditions arbitrarily imposed as a means of assessing their impact.
