Latest in a range of newly-formulated machinery adhesives from Devcon, Wellingborough, is a medium strength, general purpose threadlocker.

Called Nut Lock 2242(Plate 10), the compound is designed as a low cost alternative to other types of machinery adhesive as the need for costly liquid or spray primers is eliminated.

This anaerobic reportedly provides consistent strength on both active and inactive surfaces. It is intended for applications with nuts, bolts and screws, on all threads and in most finishes, in sizes ranging from 6mm to 19mm diameter.

Devcon says it is particularly suitable for mounting bolts and motors, bearing cap cover screws and machine tool access bolts.

Nut Lock is qualified under the relevant US Mil. Spec standards.
