Rhodia is now the sole owner of latex emulsion producer, Indolatex, after buying out its Indonesian partner Aneka Kimia Raya (40 per cent).
Indolatex is a leading manufacturer of latex emulsions in Indonesia and recently increased its production capacity to 50,000 tonnes. most of which is destined for the paper and coatings markets.
In 1993, Rhodia (then Rh^one-Poulenc Chemicals) decided to establish a site in Indonesia to take advantage of the dynamism of local paper companies who, thanks to their competitiveness, have gained an important share of the export market. This in turn has led to buoyant business activity at Indolatex over the past few months.
Through the acquisition of Indolatex, Rhodia's Paper, Coatings and Construction Materials Enterprise is pursuing its global strategy of developing its latex and additives activities. With nine manufacturing sites throughout the world and an annual capacity of more than 400,000 tonnes, Rhodia is a leading producer of latex which is sold under the Rhodopas® brand name.
Like all Rhodia's latex production facilities, the Indolatex plant has been certified to the international quality standard ISO 9000.
