Non-flammable, low VOC emission polyester impregnating resins

Keywords Resins,Trimite

A new range of non-flammable, polyester impregnating resins for electrical and electronics components the "XL2100 Series" has been introduced by Trimite. The resins are low in VOC emissions during processing and curing, and are said to offer fewer potential health and safety hazards in use than any other commercially available polyester.

Of low viscosity and minimal odour, XL2100 resins reportedly cure quickly, without fume, to produce a tough and resilient gel with excellent bond strength at high temperatures.

The resins are said to be suitable for use on all low and medium voltage coil windings, up to 11kV,including stators, armatures and transformers. They are recommended, in particular, for windings operating at up to 180°C (Class H).

Trimite XL2100 resins can be used in all normal impregnating equipment they are supplied as a single pack system for dip or VPI application (XL2101) or as an accelerated two-pack system for use in trickle processes (XL2102). Full technical details are available on request.
