Goodtech Vanpipe have recently despatched a novel custom designed plastic pilot plant to Korea for three months of extended trials on a major project.
The UK-based filtration and process specialist was required to design and build this GV Micro-Pulse plant in only six weeks for the UK based Kennicott Water Systems, in a major export opportunity to the Korean market.
Plastic was chosen for the 5m2 sized plant due to its chemical resistance, cost, and low weight (as the plant needed to be air freighted). The vessel was manufactured in glass reinforced polypropylene, with welded polypropylene pipework.
Goodtech Vanpipe used their existing pilot plant in order to conduct initial trials in the UK prior to constructing the plastic plant.
The G.V. Micro-Pulse is said to provide a low cost solution ideally suited for effluent treatment or product recovery. The dual benefit of the filter is that it allows both clarification and solids concentration to be accomplished by the same equipment. This enables the integration of procedures that previously required clarifiers, thickeners, cartridges, tubular and leaf type filters into one effective system.
