Comment: Research on refinishing

The automotive refinishing sector of the paint industry, although highly fragmented, is a growing market and is the second most profitable area after the aircraft market. Many paint manufacturers are known to be considering more active participation in this field. The chemical industry is expected to take an ever‐increasing direct interest. This situation will be further complicated by entry into the Common Market, when continental manufacturers will try for a larger share of the market.
