A new fluorescent ultraviolet UV‐A lamp for evaluating the light‐fastness of plastics, textiles, paints and inks in all ASTM G‐53 type weathering testers has been developed by the Q‐Panel Company, Cleveland, Ohio. The light output is concentrated in the UV‐A range (320 nm‐380 nm). This new lamp can produce rapid results when testing for fading, bleaching and colour changes in drapery, floor covering, furniture, and appliance materials.
