In GB Patent 2310204 Japan, as represented by the Director-General of the Agency of Industrial Science and Technology, describes a heat-resistant inorganic pigment. It comprises a composite metal oxide which contains Ti and two divalent metals selected from Mg, Fe, Ni and Co, in which the atomic ratio of the two divalent metals: Ti in the composite metal oxide is from 0.95:1 to 1.05:1 and in which the two divalent metals are present with respect to each other in an atomic ratio of M1M2 from 95:5 to 5:95. The pigment is useful as a heat-resistant coating material and does not pollute the environment.
