High capacity, Type III, strong base anion, attrition-resistant, macroporous A-555 ion exchange resin

KeywordsPublication, Purolite, Resins

A brochure from Purolite Company containing detailed technical data on its new A-555 strong base anion resin for use in make-up water demineralizers is now available on request.

Purolite calls A-555 a"Type III" resin since it is believed unique and unlike any other product available today. A-555 combines the strong silica removal and thermal stability characteristics of a Type I resin with the high capacity and high regeneration efficiency of a Type II. Because of its macroporous polymer structure, Purolite A-555 is especially resistant to attrition by both mechanical and osmotic forces.

According to Purolite, the new resin offers many advantages across a wide range of conditions in water treatment applications. It is particularly suited for installations with the most demanding quality requirements and the need for longer run lengths. A-555 also features efficient capture of organics and excellent subsequent release upon regeneration.

The brochure includes tables showing Typical chemical and physical characteristics, Standard operating procedures, Operating capacity for co-current and counter-current regeneration systems, Silica leakage data, and the Average rate of strong base degradation versus conventional Type I and Type II resins.
