PPG combines aircraft businesses

PPG Industries reports that it is combining its aircraft transparency and aerospace coatings and sealants businesses to form a new unit, aerospace products.

"We believe a unified strategy is the best method for creating greater value for the commercial, military and general aviation industries we serve",said Charles E. Bunch, executive vice-president for coatings.

Dennis Kovalsky (formerly vice-president, aerospace coatings and sealants)will lead the combined business from Glendale, California, becoming vice-president, aerospace products. Kovalsky will continue to report to Bunch. Bob Moore, general manager, aircraft glass products, will remain in Huntsville,Alabama, and report to Kovalsky.
