Coating savings impress Chinese wireworkers

According to Plascoat the Chinese have been quick to respond to recent reports of major cost savings being made by European wire product manufacturers using Plascoat's NG30 low density polyethylene (LDPE) coating.
A major shipment of the material has been made as the Chinese engage in extensive coating trials on a range of products, including a variety of shelving.
Plascoat recently announced that it was having to revise cost savings projections for N030 following detailed performance reports from early customers.
The company reports that it had estimated that manufacturers engaged in the coating of such wirework as refrigerator shelving could make savings of up to 25 per cent over competitive materials. However, Plascoat asserts that actual user reports submitted by two EU and two Eastern European manufacturers show savings are nearer 50 per cent of their coating material cost!
Around 30 per cent has reportedly been due to the reduced thickness requirement of NG30, while the lower energy need associated with the application of the coating is equivalent to a further 20 per cent saving on powder cost.
NG30 is part of a Plascoat range that gives applicators the opportunity to select specific qualities, such as an enhanced level of abrasion, stress cracking and impact resistance, and a finish appropriate to the product and budget.
