PolyOne OnColor™ BIO Colorants used in new environmentally friendly plastic toys from Green Toys™
PolyOne Corporation (NYSE: POL) announced that its OnColor™ BIO Colorants are being used to create new environmentally friendly toys manufactured by Green Toys™ Inc.
“We developed our OnColor BIO Colorants product line to assist customers such as Green Toys to manufacture products with low environmental impact,”said John Van Hulle, Vice President and General Manager, North American Color for PolyOne color and additives products and services: “We worked closely with Green Toys to develop customized colorants specific for its product line. Our fast turnaround and in-depth regulatory compliance knowledge helped Green Toys get to market quickly.”
Both, the OnColor BIO Colorants and the resin used to create the toys are based on sustainable raw materials. OnColor BIO Colorants are ideal for use in biodegradable polymers and are available in a wide range of transparent and opaque colors. End-use applications include toys, shopping and garbage bags,food and beverage packaging, and bottles and caps.
PolyOne OnColor BIO Colorants can be used in extrusion and blow-molding processes and meet the requirements of several global industry and composting standards, including EN 13432 (European Union), ASTM D6400 (USA), BPS GREENPLA(Japan) and DIN CERTCO (Germany).
Green Toys' initial product line will be available in retail stores starting this fall and include Green Toys tea set, Green Toys indoor gardening kit, Green Toys cookware and dining set, and Green Toys sand play set.
