I would like to take this opportunity to commend Abraham S. Fischler School of Education at Nova Southeastern University students Manuel Pío Rosales Almendra, Bertha Leticia González Becerra, Bruce Campbell, and José Daniel Corona Flores for contributing to this special issue of the Quarterly Review of Distance Education. At the Fischler School we encourage scholarly collaboration and connections among our distance education scholars with the peer-reviewed press, and we are pleased to feature the contributions of emerging scholars. As pioneers in the field of distance education and learning for more than 40 years, the Fischler School incorporates the most reliable and replicable research and application from both teaching practice and scholarly innovation into our coursework. We encourage healthy scholarly debate, and we hope that our students' contributions are recognized as an emergent voice in student learning strategies.
