About Review of Economics and Political Science

Aims and scope

Review of Economics and Political Science (REPS) is a scholarly journal which publishes original and impactful articles in the fields of economics, political science and statistics. REPS publishes 6 issues per annum and is owned by the Faculty of Economics and Political Science at Cairo University.

It covers the fields of economics, political science and statistics in general with a particular focus on 

  • Economic growth/development, 
  • economic and political resilience to climate change, 
  • economic and political economic innovation, 
  • fiscal policies, 
  • international finance, 
  • trade & labour economics, 
  • educational and health economics, 
  • behavioural economics, 
  • public administration and policy, 
  • comparative politics and civil society, 
  • international law, constitution and legal politics, 
  • political thought/theory and political praxis. 

Manuscripts that use quantitative, statistical and social science computing models are given special emphasis.  The journal is committed to the publication of research in economic and political sciences aligned to the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Open access 

Review of Economics and Political Science is owned by Faculty of Economics and Political Science (FEPS), Cairo University and is published by Emerald Publishing on FEPS behalf. REPS is a fully open access journal, which means all articles are published under the gold open access route, using a Creative Commons CC BY 4.0 user licence. Open access journals are supported through the payment of an article processing charge (APC). APCs are typically paid for by the author’s funder or institution. These are currently £625 for 2024.
