Designed for European manufacturing industry by a teamwork initiative in a UK company, the new Euro L1 Linear Driver has been launched by Aylesbury Automation (see Plate 4).

The Euro L1 Linear Driver operates at significantly faster speeds than any competitive product, at a continuous rate and at high levels of performance. It can be used in an exceptionally wide range of applications, including the handling of components not normally fed with linear feeders.

The Euro L1 was developed through the applied skills of a multi-disciplined team formed from sales,service, design and production staff in the Automation Division of Aylesbury Automation. With a long and distinguished history in UK manufacturing, the company has recently been updated through a series of management initiatives,including a focus on teamworking.

"We are delighted that our programme of continuous performance improvement has so quickly led to this new product which will be of real benefit to customers", said managing director Peter Kemsley.

"The Automation Division within Aylesbury Automation are working within the well-known kaizenphilosophy", explains divisional manager David Manby. "Bringing different skills together in a team to tackle product development is one of the key elements of kaizen and we decided to work on potential developments of our existing range of linear drivers."

The more versatile Euro L1 Linear Driver is already meeting with favourable response from customers across a wide range of industries.
