This online American magazine about the assembly industry has a mine of information regarding assembly processes; it was reviewed a few years ago and still is worth a visit to find the latest assembly information. Although it is a busy site with plenty of advertising it does have lots of content to read.
The “How to Guides” and blogs are most interesting and informative, and worth visiting for a viewpoint of assembly issues.
It is doubtful that you have not heard of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc. (IEEE) but the web site is worth a look at as IEEE is “the world's leading professional association for the advancement of technology.” This non-profit organization's areas of interest have expanded beyond the original IEEE. This web site is huge and contains information about the many IEEE Societies, Councils and Technical Communities. There are 38 different societies to choose from and www.ieee-ras.org The IEEE Robotics and Automation Society may be of most use to Assembly Automation readers but there are also many more to choose from. The publications section includes search facilities for journals and magazines, conference proceedings, standards and books. There is a spin off site for jobs and recruitment.
This is a really busy web site with links galore. Each link takes you to an automation related page. It is high quality and easy to navigate the Products Portals will be of interest to Assembly Automation readers, once selected all the resources are there but helpfully narrowed down to the product category,for example, programmable logic controller takes you to products, news, articles and resources just on that particular subject. The forum section takes you to a spin off web site, my.automation.com which contains blogs and groups relating to automation this site are fully searchable too. This huge site is well worth a wander through for information and articles about automation.
