Purpose
To review the Hannover Messe and report on the latest developments in assembly technology.
Design/methodology/approach
Visited the Hannover Messe and identified exhibits of interest in the field of automated assembly.
Findings
The Hannover Messe is no longer a shopwindow of robotics and vision technology. However, Volkswagen continues to use the occasion to showcase innovations in vehicle assembly.
Originality/value
Outlines state‐of‐the‐art vehicle manufacturing technology.
