Bosch launches new modular transfer system
Bosch has launched a new modular transfer system which offers greater automation flexibility, easier installation and faster start up times. The MTS 2 offers a cost effective solution to parts transportation in low and medium volume manufacturing, as it can handle changing batch sizes and the demand for ever-shorter development and production cycles for product innovation.
An MTS 2 assembly with six workstations can be built and ready for use in just one day, saving days or even weeks of design, planning and installation. The conveyor consists of ready-to-operate curve, conveyor, in-feed, centre and outfeed modules. These allow fast construction, alteration and changeovers without time consuming programming of changes on a running assembly line, owing to the integration of the mechanical, electronic, electrical and pneumatic systems on each module.
The new modular transfer system from Bosch offering greater automation flexibility
Process data and measured values are recorded in compliance with DIN/ISO 9000ff and are safeguarded in the event of a power failure or faults in the master computer thanks to decentralization of the control structure and workpiece-synchronous data transport. MTS 2 will operate in ambient temperatures of 0-40°C with system noise levels without workpiece pallets < 65dB(A).
The system is quickly converted or expanded for the production of new products and workstations can be extended individually to up to 5000mm.
