i2 Technologies announces record quarter with over $66 million in revenues

i2 Technologies, provider of intelligent planning and optimisation software for global supply management,announces record results for the first quarter of 1998. Revenues were $66.4 million and earnings of $0.10 per share, compared to first quarter 1997 revenues of $35.8 million and $0.04 per share earnings, resulting in a 156 per cent increase. This represents i2's 13th consecutive quarter of record total revenues.
Software licence revenues increased 88 per cent to $42.4 million for the quarter ending 31 March 1998,compared to $22.6 million for the same period in 1997. Combined service and maintenance revenues increased 82 per cent to $24.0 million, versus $13.2 million, for the first quarters of 1998 and 1997, respectively. Operating income for the first quarter of 1998 increased 181 per cent to $4.8 million, over the$1.7 million reported for the same quarter a year ago. Net income of $3.8 million was 156 per cent greater than first quarter 1997 net income of $1.5 million.
i2's highlights of first quarter 1998
Significant new licences this quarter included Unilever, National Steel, Acer Computers and GE Plastics. The company also entered into an agreement with Ryder Integrated Logistics, who will be providing outsourced supply-chain logistics services based on i2's Rhythm suite of products. Repeat business this quarter included additional licences with existing customers such as Thomson Consumer Electronics, the Timken Company and Hewlett Packard among others.
