Fastriv® makes connections in Holland

Keywords: Rivets, Fasteners

Fastriv® self-pierce rivets from Aylesbury Automation are proving to be a huge success with buyers in Holland who see immediate benefits in this new fastener system technology (see Plate 9).

Gerard Dijkers of Elceestaal, Aylesbury Automation's distributor in Holland, explains:

Buyers in many varying industries see quickly how the Fastriv®system can solve a production problem for them. The technology of self-pierce rivets is becoming better known and more widely used in Europe.

Fastriv® first became known in Holland through its application in industrial doors. The self-pierce rivets provide a strong join between up to three dissimilar materials, including light-weight materials such as aluminium or plastic, joined to mild steel through to high-strength steel, a process unsuited to welding technology.

The Fastriv® option also gives greater choice of materials to the industrial designer and provides a fastening solution which enables new creative designs to become reality.

Gerard Dijkers explains:

Fastriv® works well, gives added strength to the connection, is water-tight and does not corrode. We see major potential for this fastening as customers learn more about its beneficial characteristics.

Applications in Holland now include use of Fastriv® in assembly of brackets for hanging curtains on lorry trailers, rail assemblies for industrial doors, poultry feeding installations and air-conditioning applications.
