New Company, Fortetion Ltd, will provide complete automation solutions for manufacturing companies in the UK and Ireland

Fortetion Ltd, a newly formed company, is the first UK-based organisation to offer manufacturers and systems integrators in the UK and Ireland the capability to develop complete "shop floor to top floor" industrial automation and business systems solutions.
Fortetion Ltd has been established by ex. Intellution UK general manager Andrew Ballard who, as managing director is joined by fellow directors Andrew Toner and Chris Barlow, both of whom are ex. Barton Information Systems directors.
"Fortetion has been established to help manufacturing companies increase revenue and profitability by delivering open software solutions to improve dramatically their manufacturing operations. Our unique mix of products and services will enable enterprise-wide integration of automation control and business systems. I believe that industry is waiting for one organisation to bring innovative solutions to complex manufacturing problems", says Andrew Ballard, managing director, Fortetion Ltd.
In a key early development for the new company, Fortetion has been named by Intellution Inc. as its strategic partner for the UK and Ireland. In addition,Fortetion has added to Intellution's industry leading automation products with a wide variety of complementary products and services which will allow the company to offer systems integrators and manufacturers the capability to make the transition to the IT software world.
A number of MES (manufacturing execution systems) specialist companies have signed to partner Fortetion and the company is already offering application specific consulting services, site audits and product training at its Buckingham HQ.
"These early developments provide us with the best possible foundation on which to develop the business", says Andrew Ballard. Fortetion's industry leading product offering and Intellution's substantial UK and Ireland customer base will enable us to quickly develop partnerships with manufacturers in all types and size of industry.

Fortetion is confident that it will be able to help the vast majority of industries throughout the UK and Ireland including food and beverage, oil and gas, pharmaceutical, chemical, metals and mining, water and waste and consumer packaged goods.
Fortetion will open offices in both Scotland and Ireland in addition to its Manchester and Buckingham facilities and expects to employ more than 25 people by the end of 2000. Currently, the headcount is 19.
