Balluff MultiSwitch are pleased to announce another new addition to the Micropulse linear transducer family – the BTM module (see Plate 4).
Many applications require more than one position transducer, whilst others require both position and velocity information. Usually two transducers would be required to give two position outputs – leading to a costly and sometimes impractical solution. The new BTM module offers more position outputs from a single transducer in addition to velocity outputs. In some cases the module can be configured to give four position outputs in 0-10V format from just one transducer with four magnets. It is even possible to mix these features –since one model offers two position and two velocity outputs from a single transducer.

The input to this module is compatible with all Balluff pulse type transducers, while the outputs can be connected to any 0-10V or 4-20mA analogue input. Even when analogue outputs cannot be used in the application Balluff has the solution – the Profibus and CANopen versions of the Micropulse linear transducers offer multiple position and velocity outputs in addition to many other features such as set point control.
Balluff Micropulse linear transducers are available in rod style for internal applications such as hydraulic cylinders, or profile style and can be ordered in a range of lengths from 25mm to 3,850mm.
