Powerful with minimal space requirements: the new robot and handling control rho4.0
Keywords: Robots, Control
A comprehensive performance package of high functionality with minimal space requirements – this is the new robot and handling control rho4.0 (see Plate 3). The Electric Drives and Controls Division of Bosch Rexroth AG offers the rho4.0 based on various customer requirements in two housing versions as well as in two configuration levels: rho4.0 S (small) and rho4.0 L (large). With up to 16 axes as well as 16 kinematics, both designs feature a wide functional range and provide a maximum application memory of 4MB. Thus, the rho4.0 offers a powerful platform even for comprehensive automation jobs.
Plate 3 The new robot and handling control rho4.0 features compact design and application-oriented features with high functional scope
The application software is compatible with rho4.1, so that users may continue to apply their existing programs, thus maintaining their investments. The control is operated by the real-time operating system VxWorks. Via the integrated CAN-Bus or optional field bus cards for Profibus-DP, CANopen and/or Interbus-S, the user can connect his peripheral equipment to rho4.0. For an easier link with the corporate networks, Ethernet TCP/IP is already on board. Since no moving parts are used with the embedded PC technology, the rho4.0 features high security and reliability. This is also ensured by the proven software PLC "PCL" which is included in the basic scope of supply of the rho4.0 in configuration PCL-S. The user can choose between two different types of housings. The horizontal design will find its place in the 19in. rack and the vertical version can be mounted directly next to the drive amplifiers Servodyn-D.
Moreover, the rho4.0 suits every application due to the possibility of selecting between different types of drives. For this purpose, the digital drive interfaces CANrho, CANopen as well a Sercos Interface are available.
