Certified Profibus technician courses to address fieldbus installation problems
Keywords: Profibus, Training
New course for electrical engineers and technicians needing to upgrade their skills to include fieldbus installation.
Many fieldbus installation problems arise as a result of failure to observe elementary electrical disciplines, but people then blame fieldbus itself.
Recognising that this is a seflous problem affecting not just Profibus but other fieldbuses too, Profibus UK is launching a series of Certified Profibus Technician courses to help electrical engineers and plant technicians understand the techniques needed for successful fieldbus installation.
Covering bus topology, slave resistor settings, grounding of shielded cables at master. slave and cubicle entry/exit, software configuration, address settings, and detail within segments, including resistance, voltage on A-pulse,B-pulse and differential, the courses will teach delegates how to avoid common fieldbus installation problems.
Each course finishes with written and practical tests, the successful completion of which will resuIt in the award of Certified Profibus Technician status.
