Title: Wireless manufacturing line controlApplicant: C E ElectronicsPatent number: US2010023152 (A1)Publication date: January 28, 2010
Abstract
This device is a wireless tool monitor assembly line interface. The current embodiment of this new tool monitor has the ability to communicate with multiple different tool types. Pneumatic, electric, click-based torque tools, and strain gauge torque transducers can all be outfitted with a radio. Once outfitted with a radio, and programmed to communicate with a common protocol, all of these devices can communicate with the tool monitor. The device is especially useful with a plurality of wireless qualifiers for monitoring and controlling a plurality of wireless tools wherein the wireless qualifiers are configured to send wireless signals to the wireless interface: a plurality of wireless tools configured to send wireless signals to the wireless qualifiers; and a wireless self-contained internal power supply located in the transducer housing.
Title: Intelligent modeling and control of automationApplicant: UNIV DREXEL [US]Patent number: US2009276073 (A1)Publication date:November 5, 2009
Abstract
A system and method for advanced device specific knowledge-based modeling as well as intelligent control to yield high performance, low-cost automation for optoelectronic design, packaging and assembly. The control loop design is based on knowledge-based model predictive control. A knowledge model, specific to the assembled package’s characteristics, is used to set the initial “feed-forward”conditions of an automation system. In addition to this feed-forward model for setting the initial set point, the controller is designed with feedback components, along with the inclusion of a built in sensor. This system and method increases the efficiency of the automation process and the number of assembly steps can be greatly reduced. A method for the design, assembly and packaging of optoelectronic devices is also described.
Title: Factory level and tool level advanced process control systems integration implementationInventor: Behm Gary W. [Us]; Hwang Emily M.[Us]; Li Yue [Us]; Magtoto Teresita Q. [Us]Patent number: US2009118851(A1)Publication date: May 5, 2009
Abstract
Integration of factory level advanced process control (FL-APC) system and tool level advanced process control (TL-APC) system using selectable APC operation modes indicating different operational settings for the FL-APC system and at least one TL-APC system is disclosed. During operation, the FL-APC system controls operation of the TL-APC system. The invention allows a manufacturing execution system (MES) to have additional capability to run the process control functions at FL-APC system and/or TL-APC system, and allows integration of a variety of different tools with a TL-APC system. An implementation method, system and program product are also disclosed.
Title: Intelligent energy management architectureApplicant: Boeing Co.[Us]; Karimi Kamiar J. [Us]; Breit Joseph S. [Us]; Helton Steven B. [Us]; Laib Trevor M. [Us]Patent number: WO2010047902 (A2)Publication date:April 29, 2010
Abstract
Systems and methods are disclosed for a power control system including intelligent devices. A vehicle power control system includes a power supply configured to supply a first quantity of power to at least one device configured to consume power based on a first power demand. The vehicle power control system also includes an intelligent device configured to determine a second power demand for the intelligent device during a vehicle operation. The vehicle power control system also includes an energy management system. The energy management system is configured to communicate with the at least one the intelligent device regarding the second power demand of the at least one intelligent device to coordinate scheduling of power distribution during the vehicle operation in order to generate a power distribution schedule to account for the first power demand of the at least one device and the second power demand of the at least one intelligent device. The energy management system directs the first quantity of power to the at least one device according to the first power demand of the at least one device and directs a second quantity of power to the at least one intelligent device according to the power distribution schedule.
Title: Electronic device adapted to be worn on an arm of an operator and to be used in the field of automated manufacturing in textile industryApplicant: LIVINGTECH DI COMPER E ASSOCIA [IT]Patent number: EP2136274(A1)Publication date: December 23, 2009
Abstract
An electronic device wearable on the arm of an operator (just like a large watch), allowing him thus to work with free hands. The device is equipped with a rechargeable battery, has a graphic touch-screen display and is able to communicate over wireless nets with machinery automation and control systems, as well as with centralized or distributed computers, such as those used in various manufacturing control procedures or for the remote control of production plants. This device is provided with software tools implementing algorithms, functions and automation procedures which, processing data, inputs and commands coming from shared networks and/or the web, allow to have a mobile communication interface and synergetic effects between man and machinery, integrating and checking in real time, safely, efficiently and in an ergonomic way, processes steps, commands and manual operations within manufacturing cycles which are largely, but not totally, automated.
