This bibliography is in the same series as British Women Writers 1700‐1850 that has been reviewed recently in these columns (RR 97/364) and follows much the same approach. Approximately 70 writers are included, all of whom have been subject to a major revival since the 1970s because of new information and new perspectives on their lives and works, fuelled to a considerable extent by feminist interests and perceptions. The six chapters address nineteenth century fiction, twentieth century fiction, poets and dramatists, intellectuals and journalists, black writers and finally writers from other ethnic groups.
