When a work first published in 1971 achieves its 29th edition, as this title does in the year 2000, it should be sufficiently well‐known to preclude the necessity of a review. But it is impossible to ignore this information‐packed volume, and it is a pleasure to welcome the 29th edition into the new millennium.
