In a time when many libraries and educational institutions are facing numerous budget cuts and rising database subscription prices, a resource that is as exhaustive, relevant and freely available as CompPile is a rare gem. CompPile bills itself as an “ongoing inventory of publications in post‐secondary composition, rhetoric, ESL, and technical writing” that covers twentieth‐century publications from the beginning of World War II through 1999. The bibliography stops indexing after 1999, when coverage of scholarship on the history, theory and practice of post‐secondary rhetoric and composition began to be included in the MLA Bibliography.
