Encyclopedia of Education (2nd edition)

The first edition of this encyclopedia was published in 1971. This new set has been totally rewritten to reflect the changes of the last 30 years both in education and the context in which education occurs. There are eight volumes containing more than 850 articles, ranging in length from 500 to 5,000 words. As well as covering key issues and sectors the encyclopedia includes entries on global regions and 121 biographical sketches of influential educators.

The purpose of this encyclopedia is to “provide a comprehensive description of the enterprise of education, both within the United States and throughout the world”....
