The Left Index covers publications focused on political, economic, social and cultural research that is politically leftist. Among the topics covered are the labour movement, ecology and environment, race and ethnicity, social and cultural theory, sociology, art and aesthetics, philosophy, history, education, law, and globalization. A total of 774 sources are indexed; many are not found in mainstream or general social science indexes. Dates of coverage are “1982 and earlier” to the present.
