The Handbook of Texas Online, a joint project of the General Libraries at the University of Texas at Austin and the Texas State Historical Association (TSHA), is the latest version of an encyclopedia first published in 1952. It now devotes over 23,000 articles to Texas geography, history, and culture. The online version contains the full text of the second printing of the New Handbook of Texas, plus several hundred articles omitted from the print volumes.
