It is perhaps symbolic of the human condition that the Encyclopedia of Peace Education reached me in the same parcel as a much larger encyclopedia of war (RR 2009/141). In this case the title of “Encyclopedia” might be questioned, since the book is really an anthology of 17 chapters by different authors on important aspects of the subject, and thus requires to be read through in succession.
